Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: I stayed at Shakabrah for a week and really enjoyed it. The staff felt like family (thanks to Michael, May, and Frits), the bed was great, and the sea view was amazing. The beachfront location is perfect for swimming. There were fireflies and Bioluminescent plankton, which felt like magic. Be aware: there’s only one outdoor shower and no hot water. Towels and toilet paper are not included – you need to pay 100 pesos each time for a new towel or a toilet paper roll. Also, parts of the garden like the beachfront benches can only be used if you buy something at the restaurant, and the skatepark isn’t accessible unless you pay the 100 peso entrance, even just to watch friends. Overall, a lovely stay, but I wish these extra costs were mentioned before booking. Still totally would recommend this to everyone, if you want a good friendly place to unwind.
