Positive: Absolutely incredible! There are not enough stars to give Kusirena Homestay. It was by far our favorite place to stay on our Philippines holiday, and we 110% recommend staying here. *Long review coming, because they deserve it!* Sab, Edith and Mayeh were so accommodating, and couldn’t do enough for us in the 5 days we stayed there. Before arriving, we messaged saying we both have some back pain issues, they replied within a day and the mattress they gave us was very comfy. We had breakfast included in our package, and each day was a surprise filling meal within 10 minutes of coming outside the room. Some days it was a Thai delicacy breakfast, sometimes it was toast and eggs. Coffee is included, but because of being attached to the restaurant, if we wanted something different it was delivered to the table outside our room (Thai milk tea and Nestle iced tea pitcher were our go to’s). The property is stunning, with lots of different rooming options available, we had one with air conditioning, a fan, and a beach-ish view from the bathroom window, but they also have a tree house room looking onto the beach, and a 10 bed hostel size room for bigger families. The private area for guests has a sofa and TV, and a bar area that looks onto the beach. We took advantage of the location and went swimming, but because it is so close to Balatero Port, be aware that there is a steep sea shelf and it gets pretty deep, pretty fast! We ate in the restaurant for lunch one day with friends, the service was attentive, prices reasonable, and the food generous and gorgeous! Lovely selection of beers, and soft drinks too. Even though they close the restaurant Mondays and Tuesdays, we still had breakfast, iced tea and beers delivered to us.

Negative: Nothing we didn’t like, be wary of the weather and time of year that you book, it did rain a lot (wet season) and the beach got washed out a bit because of this.
