Summary: I really wanted to give this 5 stars but I can’t. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are great and the staff friendly. The downside. Payment. Despite having a booking which was “pay at property”, my payment was taken before I arrived using the card I’d used to hold the booking. This wasn’t checked with me. As a consequence they added an extra 15% (as per the t&cs for card payments). If I’d agreed to this AT THE PROPERTY it would have been fine but to have the payment taken in advance without checking so an extra 15% is added, isn’t right. They also deny any wrongdoing on this. I’d have paid in cash at the property but their actions didnt give me this choice.
