Positive: The property offered several amenities, such as the pool, basketball and karaoke.

Negative: The place is a bit outdated. Kitchen was small and very enclosed with lack of proper ventilation. Nothing was mentioned about the bathroom being outside, which is very inconvenient along with the sliding door that really doesn’t slide as easily as it should. There were flies and insects inside the house. The room downstairs had a locked cabinet and as we were sleeping, we kept hearing thuds and scratches inside (not sure if it was a rat or a cat that somehow got inside and got trapped). I am aware that there is a big difference in rental culture between the Philippines and the states but this is also not the first time I have rented out places in the Philippines. I had messaged about a request for a shower chair for our guests that are elderly and disabled. I did not get a response back, even as to say that it wasn’t available. And then when we had conversed with the caretaker, he told us that he wasn’t told anything about a shower chair. But I have proof from the chat that I had sent the message about the request with no response back from the property. I also confirmed with the caretaker during check-in about 11am being the check-out time, but the next day, they were already in the property by 10:30am which I didn’t think was appropriate considering we are still within the time of our rental. Had it been closer to 11am to do an inspection and hand off the keys, I would’ve understood but being 30 minutes early and standing there watching us as we get ourselves together gave off the energy that we were being rushed out. One of the biggest things was the security deposit. I don’t know where the issue is but it should be consistent all throughout. I booked through booking.com to which it stated that: “A damage deposit of PHP 2000 is required on arrival. That's about HKD 262. This will be collected as a cash payment. You should be reimbursed on check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full in cash, subject to an inspection of the property.
