Positive: We had wanted to stay at a longhouse and to do so here exceeded our expectations. Not only is it in the most beautiful area, walking distance to the Niah Caves but for us Peter, Louisa and their family and the longhouse community made our stay so special. We were treated like royalty and made to feel so welcome. We absolutely loved looking around the “kampung”, with Louisa showing us the local school and surrounding areas, and we were fascinated to learn about the Iban culture and the traditions of this area of Sarawak. The kindness, and generous hospitality of Peter and his family were so appreciated, including his wonderful cooking and showing us some local food. We only wish we could have stayed longer! This is a must do if you are in the Miri or Sarawak area.
